Today a client lost their site. They had been in negotiation with the landlord for around 6 months and we had fully interior designed it. Unfortunately this situation is not as rare as you might think and the debate with a new site / concept is always at which point do you give the interior designer the green light?
Well if you are not sure what form your ideas are going to take, or how many toilets you need for a 50 cover restaurant, then I say you can never start too early. Compared to the cost of getting the wrong size site or a site with the wrong services, design fees can be money well spent.
On a positive note now that we have been through the design process with what is now a superseded site my client will be able to make a much more informed decision on the next site and once acquired the technical drawings will take a lot less time and money to produce.
